2014 is ramping up, and Sopo needs your help!
Over the past year, nearly 130 dedicated volunteers have helped over 6,500 shop visitors learn to maintain their bicycles. We collaborated with community partners such as the International Rescue Committee, Habitat for Humanity, the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, and Catholic Charities, and given away over 150 bicycles.
Our plans for 2014 include a new earn-a-bike partnership with the Gateway Center for the Homeless, hiring an executive director and volunteer coordinator to help solidify Sopo’s organizational structure, and expanding our existing programs and open shop hours to get more bikes to more people.
With these goals in mind, Sopo is launching our first ever Annual Fundraising Campaign. We have included you in this announcement because we know you are a friend of Sopo and you appreciate what we do. As you take time to think about your holiday giving this year, we ask that you please consider showing your support by donating to Sopo. Any amount you can spare will go a long way in helping Sopo expand its reach and improve its operations.
