The 2012 Atlanta Seersucker Social is right around the corner, Sunday, September 9th at 1pm. More info from the event…
No, we didn’t forget this year, just listened to your sweaty requests for better weather: it’s time for the Seersucker Social!
One last spin for your sundresses and linens, your stripes and solids and sashes, and, of course, your seersucker attire; oil your chains, pump up your tires; put on your best smiles (frowns forbidden), and let’s bid adieu to this salty, sweltering summer in style.
We will gather at 1 p.m. at Hand in Hand for pre-ride libations, and roll out at 2 p.m. sharp. You and we and all our newfound fancy friends will wend toward Candler Park and Kirkwood, pop off in Reynoldstown for a cocktail, and conclude at historic Oakland Cemetery for a PYOP (pack-your-own picnic), with music, dancing, and ample laughter.
ROLL: 2 p.m., by bike
ARRIVE: circa 4 p.m., Sleeping Lion statue, historic Oakland Cemetery
DISCLOSURE: this is Atlanta: that means hills, some of ‘em significant and looooong. This steep, quadriceps-conquering fact has been overlooked by folks in years past, such was their excitement. If you have not regularly ridden your bike in the last two months, or ride solely where it is flat (say, the Silver Comet), consider meeting us at Oakland Cemetery around 4 p.m.
FURTHEST DISCLOSURE: we can’t wait to see you!
